Jesper Ståhl’s Stockholm cutlery combines streamlined matte-polished stainless steel with smooth black handles. Few domestic tools are as intimate and as important to us as those connected with eating, cooking and serving. Details like volume, balance and weight — the tactile characteristics of the material and the way in which the tools lie in the hand — all contribute to the total impression of the meal. Stockholm cutlery is made by one of China’s leading producers of kitchen knives which they supply to restaurant kitchens all over the world. Rather than being made from punched blanks — the commonest form of cutlery — the steel is hot-forged and then fitted with a mat black thermoplastic handle. This fine example of skilled metal work is included in our New Scandinavian Kitchen range.
