With Hammershøi Summer, you can almost feel the sun’s rays and warm summer breeze as you set the table for coffee and cakes on the terrace, balcony or at the holiday cottage. The series is inspired by the fairytale shapes, colours and ambience of a Danish summer. The 12-cm bowl is adorned with a tall sunflower and swallow in mid-flight and is perfect for serving berries, cookies or other delicacies to summer guests. If you already have other pieces in the Hammershøi Summer series, the bowl will go beautifully with the summer berries and forget-me-nots themes, rounding off the happy and cosy summer vibe on the table while you enjoy the authentic nostalgia of Kähler’s handmade design traditions. The sunflower is immortalised on the bowl in different ways, enabling you to sense the movement it goes through during the day: The open flower stands towards the sun from the early morning and moves during the day to catch as much sun as possible. At the end of the day, the sunflower turns towards the west. Then, during the night, it turns towards the east and waits patiently for the first rays of sun to return. The motifs are made by artist Rikke Jacobsen on the Hammershøi tableware's existing pieces designed by Hans-Christian Bauer.
