What is the purpose of your Fair Use policy?

We believe this ambition includes a lot of things, including extended and easy returns, good deals, environmental stewardship and an unrivalled Customer Service.
Our Fair Use policy is, among other business practices, a way for us to reach our goal of making your shopping experience outstanding, by limiting behaviour that exploits our services at the expense of other customers, our business and the environment.
This means that our system detects the accounts with excessive or exploitative shopping behaviour and temporarily pauses those accounts, as well as any other accounts linked to them. This could be behaviours where the exact same item is bought and returned multiple times, voucher codes being misused, gifts with purchase not being returned when returning the item the gift belonged to, or other systematic behaviour that exploits our terms and conditions.
Does the Fair Use policy really make a difference?
Yes! We are very happy to have seen positive benefits both for the service we can offer our customers and the impact on the environment. One year after we introduced the Fair Use policy we had reduced our carbon emissions by an amount equivalent to 30% of the returned CO2 footprint. The reduction of carbon emissions is linked to eliminating the need for the delivery trucks to drive back and forth with items that were never intended to be kept.
Should I worry about being potentially paused due to breach of the Fair Use policy?
No, you shouldn't. We accept large fluctuations in the return percentage in the understanding that it can be difficult with sizes, fit, new brands, fashion/taste, children growing, gifts that do not fall in the recipient's taste and so on. We react only to the cases that clearly violate the Fair Use policy.
Over the years less than 0.25% of our customers have been affected by the Fair Use policy and we believe this share will decrease even more over time.
I am paused due to breach of the Fair Use policy. Will my account be paused permanently?
No, most likely not. In the absolute majority of cases the account is paused temporarily. Depending on the case, this can vary from a couple of months to a number of years. In very severe cases the pause can be invoked permanently. You are always free to contact our Customer Service and ask to have your account reopened. If you do that, we will be happy to re-evaluate your case but please note that there is no guarantee that we agree to reopen your account. The decision to pause and the length of the pause is decided by us. Factors that we take into consideration in such decisions are for example how severe the original breach was and the behaviour of the customer during the pause, for example attemps to circumvent the pause by registering new account with misleading or false customer information.
I think it is unfair that you’ve paused my account, what can I do?
You can contact our Customer Service via email and explain to them why you think the pause is unfair and why your account should be reopened. We will listen to what you have to say and be happy to re-evaluate your case. We will get back to you with our decision.
Our belief is that our Fair Use policy is protecting the shopping experience for everyone, while contributing to more sustainable business practices which are better for the environment and are reducing our CO2 footprint. If you believe it’s a mistake that your account has been paused, we kindly ask you to send an email to our Customer Service who will give your case a second look.
Can I still return items if I have been paused due to breach of the Fair Use policy?
Yes, of course. The Fair Use policy does not remove your right as a consumer to return items, or to make a quality claim in any way, for items you have bought from us.
