A tasteful Christmas classic in handmade ceramics. Kähler Gingerbread is a series of modern gingerbread houses and a Christmas wreath from Kähler. Here, the charming expression comes together with handmade design traditions in the glow of tealights and Christmas tradition, spreading both style and cosiness. Baking is part of Christmas and, with its life-like look, it’s easy to imagine that Kähler has just taken a freshly baked gingerbread house out of the ceramic oven. You can almost smell the gingerbread, but don't be tempted to take a bite: the entire Gingerbread series is made of stoneware, and the white glaze is ceramic. The Kähler Gingerbread Lighthouse Christmas Stable has a height of 11.5 cm and is inspired by a traditional old barn. These days, such barns are most often seen at countryside Christmas markets, where they serve as a cosy and authentic setting for selling freshly baked Danish pancake balls, Christmas decorations, mulled wine, knitted gloves and burnt almonds to visiting, rosy-cheeked festive shoppers. The Christmas stable has snow on the roof and is decorated with delicate patterns typical of a gingerbread house. The lighthouse has plenty of space for a tealight, making it perfect for spreading Christmas cheer through the hand-cut windows and the stable's unique features – the large wooden doors with their own small windows. Mette Bache and Barbara Bendix Becker are the designers behind the Kähler Gingerbread series, and their designs are a fusion of stringent and authentic styles. The geometric surfaces of the lighthouses are softened by the fine decorations and the many windows and doors, all of which are cut by hand for a natural and cosy look.
